Ha ha great season guys

I'm declaring myself champion

Sometimes the best team doesn't win, and that's the case here, captain

I'm making the difficult decision to suspend the Competelevel Fantasy League at this time amidst the COVID-19 crisis. The commissioner will continue to draw a paycheque but everyone else is fucked.

Well, according to Yahoo, we're done here.

Talk about anti-climatic!

No rush, it's not like the draft itself is happening anytime soon. The lottery is next week (can't wait for the Wings to get the 4th pick).

The SNES will have two of the top three picks, which will make two Western Conference teams very happy in 7ish years when they inevitably get traded for large quantities of spare parts.

I'll get our draft lottery organized and run for this Friday so people can start planning/researching based on their position.

I have absolutely no recollection of the standings anymore, other than Cap was first.

I'm going to start moving along the RFA stuff in the next week or so... we're not going to have a lot of time free time before the draft starts.

in terms of dates, we're looking at:

sept 1 - 18: roster cleanups, RFA qualifying offers submitted
sept 19 - oct 4: offersheet period
october 9th: CFL draft begins

okay so one thing we didn't get from the old board was the RFA offersheet compensation amounts and i can't find a record of it so I'm going to do my best to recreate it based on memory:

$3 or less: no compensation
$4-$7: 5th round pick
$7-$10: 4th round pick
$11-$14: 3rd round pick
$15-$19: 2nd round pick
$20-$24: 1st round pick
$25-$29: 1st and 3rd round picks
$30-$34: 1st and 2nd round picks
$35+: two 1st round picks

i think this is pretty close, let me know if there are issues with this and we can discuss

Seems unlikely that we will hit these dates so we’ll just have to delay the start of the CFL draft. I’ll send another yahoo reminder this week.

Hey gang, thanks for helping get this draft wrapped up in short order.

Next step for getting the league ready before the NHL starts (I'm shocked it's kicking off next month) is for me to renew the Yahoo league.

You'll all need to go in and set your keepers, I'll configure that today and send out a note.

Alright, keepers should be all set up. You can log in to Yahoo and select everyone carrying forward to next year. I set the deadline for January 2nd, I'm hoping that gives everyone enough time to do so.

-If you acquired a player through offersheets, or signed a player to an ELC (ie. Kaprizov, Shestyorkin, Jokiharju) I put them on your roster.
-If any unsigned prospects with fantasy relevance are approaching the games played limit, it would be wise to sign them now!
-If you need anyone else added (ie. a prospect under contract but not on your roster at end of season last year, someone you dropped because your IR was full) just post here and I'll add them on your behalf.

While you're setting your keepers it's a good idea to check and make sure your spreadsheet is up to date with current contract information. Raises through offersheet process, extensions, that kind of thing.

Last thing: if you could confirm the total number of players that should be on your roster going into the auction, and your cap space for the auction, that would be super helpful.

Looking forward to getting another year rolling!

I have seventeen guys on my roster* taking up 106 Yahoo bucks

* Jesse Puljujarvi (deep sigh) must be added, he was not a keeper option
