Had to buy a new furnace today.

FA just did our taxes and got an early return, so at least the money was waiting there

i am letting the board down by not going to see mclusky tonight (seeing alkaline trio instead)

I'm seeing them tomorrow in Grand Rapids

maybe i should have tried to see both because A3 are done now and i'm just going home

i had tickets for the mclusky show that got canceled last year but by the time it got rescheduled i already had bought tickets for alkaline trio

Was supposed to go to the Oakland McLusky show in the before times but couldn't make it out there or to the MLPS show.

Ah well, at least I got to see their last show before the original breakup. It was awesome but boy were they in a bad mood.

I just cleaned up an astonishing amount of barf from seemingly every surface (wall, toilet, floor, back of door, toilet paper roll, etc.) from our hotel in Nashville. The front desk said they’d send someone up, half hour later and still nothing, so we get a mop / bucket, some extra towels, and a big garbage bag to make up for the fact that the last person from housekeeping went home for the night. I ran to Walgreens to get paper towels and spray.

So much barf, just so much.

I re-registered to ask this - was it your barf? Or did you get a new hotel room that was already barfed in?

And what hotel? I was in Nashville last summer, stayed at the Waymore on the east side. Loved that town, if 2PEENZ was a city it would probably be Nashville.

We were at the Marriott at Vanderbilt, which is by the Parthenon but not the bars. The room did not come pre-barfed -- gotta pay extra for that! -- my daughter sat up in her bed the last night we were there, threw up a little on the sheets, I said "Go to the toilet!" and she, uh, did not show the necessary compete level in getting there in time. We'd been out all day in a surprising amount of sun so I think that did her in, not the biscuits from the Loveless Cafe.

Otherwise, great experience! A friend of mine from grad school lives there, we ate a bunch of great food, got to see various parts of the city.

Stopped at Mammoth Caves on the drive down.

Seeing them in Detroit. I was tempted to go to Vegas for Best Friends Forever and see them and Jawbox, Built to Spill, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jesus Lizard, etc., but I couldn't justify the cost of flying out for it so I was pretty happy about Unwound doing a show just for me, as a treat.

This morning was the inspection for the furnace. When I opened the door to the furnace room I learned that the hot water heater was leaking all over the place and needs to be replaced.

Love having a day wasted and spending a bunch of money
