It's gonna take a super slow game plus a rain delay but I'm optimistic I can be watching breakfast baseball at some point

That was about the most limp dicked effort I’ve ever seen.

Well, the Blue Jays released Tulowitzki. Glad he thought he was too good for Colorado.

Oh also on Adam Ottavino saying he'd strike out Babe Ruth every time...I'm not suggesting The Babe would even get a single hit off of him but at the same time, I remember this happened.

https://www.denverpost.com/2017/06/25/a ... e-dodgers/

So...good chance he either beans him or walks him a few times.

I sent the new Ottavino article to a friend of mine saying "He's so dumb, he's bound to be an announcer soon" and he said he thought the same thing when he saw it.

Here's my HOT TAKE on time-traveling athletes: Yes, if you took Babe Ruth out of 1927 baseball and plopped him into a 2019 MLB roster, it wouldn't go well for the Babe. The game has changed immeasurably. But when Ottavino points out "Oh he just ate hot dogs all the time and was a fatty-fat-fat," it gets to the point I always think about. If you're going to take the old athletes out of their time, you have to give them modern training / diet routines and equipment. (It would be pretty great to see someone try to give Babe Ruth coconut water and a kale-based protein shake.) And I think the majority of star athletes from whichever sport is being discussed would learn to adapt to the new game once the training/diet stuff is evened out. They were star athletes for a reason, they probably have a natural aptitude for the game. I'm sick of seeing people say "Oh Gretzky would stink in the modern NHL." He had a genius-level hockey IQ, I think he'd figure it out.

Yeah think of how good Mickey Mantle was. He hit like 500 homers drunk off his ass!

what in the sweet merciful fuck is this about?

Quote:
BREAKING: The Tampa Bay Rays have received MLB's permission to explore becoming two-city team: the Tampa Bay area and Montreal, sources tell ESPN. The plan: Play early-season home games in the Tampa Bay area and finish the season in Montreal.

I'm not sure how likely that is to actually happen the Rays are mostly trying to force Tampa/St. Petersburg to buy them a new stadium with public money and using this as leverage
