Well Mr. Burns had done it,
The power plant had won it,
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while,
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile,
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile...

We're talkin' softball...
From Maine to San Diego.
Talkin' softball...
Mattingly and Canseco.
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw.
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law.
We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.

Hey Jesse, last time we played DC I said "Fuck the Nationals" to the sold-out 930 club (who were there to see Calexico).

Nobody cared.

you get access to 80 games, i figure i'd go to at least 10-15 over a season that lasts like six months. i also really need to get a foul ball or something. last year i moved to first base line seats from ones above the visitor bullpen the half-inning before Morneau went deep off Halladay to the very section i'd been sitting for 6.5 innings, which of course was basically empty. i don't feel like i'll ever fully get over that but to at least start i need to get a foul ball sometime to start the process.

Greatest tragedy of my life was the strike season. I went to about 10 games that season and videotaped every game possible. It was my year goddammit

if it's the Star one you're asking about it's every home game except the opener.

Every time I wear my Expos hat (which is every other day) I get people telling me I'm not old enough to remember the team. Sons of bitches don't know I look young and I still weep for the day they moved

Yes sir. It perfect for those who don't really like baseball because you have to adjust your roster every day

yup, i'm an idiot! last year i had like four or five friends with passes who were sick of watching the losers by September so i made use of those for the last month. the good news about this year is i'm assuming some of the same folks will reach their breaking point earlier, although part of what was so tough last year was seeing Halladay battle the Yankees for 8 innings while the offence puts up 4 hits. no one's really expecting anything this season.

i don't know who Wandy Rodriguez is so it's disheartening to see that he's 95% owned.

I went to a couple games their last season, it was so fun. Saw them beat the Braves in extra innings at one of them.

That strike year killed it for me, too, though.

it's just a swipe card and they give you whatever available seats there are in the 500 section. so like you don't have a seat that's "yours" but obviously there are always lots of empty ones so why not. i'm sure it's not profitable but it's a limited number and butts in the seats makes the situation a bit less embarrassing and also people buy concessions and stuff, i mean at the very least a fountain drink for mixing.

He had an incredible (fantasy) season last year so people are hoping he will put up the same numbers
SEASON TEAM G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO W L SV HLD BLSV WHIP ERA
2009 Hou 33 33 1 1 205.2 192 77 69 21 63 193 14 12 0 0 -- 1.24 3.02

He was the best pitcher available when I picked

I used to see a game once a week when I was younger. My old man and I would go down and see a game and eat pretzels and toasted bunned hot dogs. I don't think he has ever actually liked baseball, it was just the ritual and father-son angouts.

you can get tickets from scalpers (that they've redeemed from their Star season pass) for 5 bucks usually. so i guess if i go to less than 20 games that won't be such a waste but ideally i'd go to at least 5 a month. on weekend games you get a free slice of pizza if jays pitchers strike out a combined 7 batters.

I adopted the Red Sox awhile back cause I had friends in Boston. This, of course, was before they won. I think the first season was 2003 when they lost in the ALCS if not 2002.
