To Edm:
Green 5.4mil x 1 year 50% retained (2.7mil)
Glendening 1.8 mil x 2 years
Athanasiou 3mil x 1 year (rfa)
2021 2nd rd pick

To Detroit:
Samorukov
Chiasson 2.1mil x 2 years
Manning 2.2mil x 1 year (1.2 mil buried cap relief)
Benning 1.9 mil x 1 year (rfa)
2020 2nd rd pick, 2020 4th rd pick
Conditional 2021 1st rd pick

So Samorukov, Chiasson, 1st for AA, and a 2nd

Benning for Glendening

Manning, a 2nd and 4th for retained Green

Oilers can bury Gagner to make up for extra salary we take on in this trade

AA - McD - Neal
Nuge - Drai - Yammo
Archie - Sheahan - Kassian
Khaira - Glen - Nygard

Klefbom - Larrson
Nurse - Bear
Russell - Green
Jones

There’s some convoluted thread about whether your team would trade a better asset than Andrei Svech for Rasmus Dahlin and this fucking post right here
Suzuki will probably be a similar asset to Svechnikov and I wouldn' t trade him.

Deal 2)
I got roasted for this one on the Oilers board, but interested to hear what others think:

Klefbom (4.17 for 3 more years)
McLeod (C #40 in 2018)
1st 2020

for

Moritz Seider

And Edmonton starts a much needed retool on D.

I don't have words to adequately express how tremendously vomit inducing the second deal is for Edmonton. Klefbom is an NHL top pairing defenceman. Moritz Seider is a top pairing AHL defenceman. I don't care if his upside is prime Bobby Orr, he is *not* as good as Klefbom is right now and the value is absolutely atrocious.

A deal that truly makes sense for both teams.

This is the OP of a thread, no actual proposal
Don't know what the deal will be but I really believe the Rangers will go after Larkin. They aren't giving up Kakko, Lafrenierre or Fox. Is Larkin a star? Not on Detroit. Maybe in 4-5 years when the Wings put it together and he's 29 he will have a couple star years. Not short term with a roster that needs a lot of work. You put him with Panarin he's a star. Is it a smart move for Detroit to trade Larkin for 3-4 guys to make the team deeper and ensure that they are terrible and draft super high another couple of years? Probably. They are most likely going to draft a talented forward with the 4th overall pick. Doesn't matter if he's the captain. Being the captain of a team that won't be any good for 4-5 years isn't going to be a big deal. They can find another leader on a young team. The deal makes too much sense not to happen. Detroit needs tons of depth in all positions and the Rangers have it to trade.

I agree. Please trade Larkin to the Rangers for 3-4 guys.

Any 3-4 will do, that's 2-3 more guys than just Larkin, and they need guys

If you want to truly suffer, read through every page of this "What if the Habs offer sheet Anthony Mantha for 9 million a year" thread: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/ ... a.2778279/

The OP
Wings have tons of cap space and that's not a problem. Habs have about $10M in cap space if we trade Domi for futures (Sabres for the 8th pick is one example).

Does Yzerman try to low ball his top talent like he did in Tampa? Taxes not the same in Detroit. If Mantha is not happy with the offer from Yzerman, all his agent has to do is call Bergevin.

Offer 1
- 5 years at $8.75M
- If they don't match... 2 Firsts, 1 Second, 1 Third

Offer 2:
- 2 years at $8.75M. I believe he has 2 RFA years left and he gets to UFA quicker. If the Wings match, Habs can circle back when Mantha becomes UFA in 2 years.
- If they don't match... 2 Firsts, 1 Second, 1 Third

Yzerman's perspective... Trying to rebuild and likely wants Mantha for 7 or 8 years overlapping his rebuild and contention start point. But if Mantha is signed for 2 or 5 years does he consider the futures?
This is the same guy who thought Domi + small asset was enough for Mantha. There's doubling down and then there's harping on the same flawed logic, page after page, and referring back to your prior posts by number

It's worth noting that all of it is predicated on the Sabres trading the eighth pick for Domi, which seems... unlikely.

Literally no one in the thread agrees with the guy and yet he just keeps going, like "Wow is this the fastest moving trade proposal thread ever?"

Any point like "Uh if you give Mantha 9 million what will you have to give your other forwards?" is tossed aside by the guy over and over.

I need to log off.

Guy is still going
You need to come up with context to move me off this. And my context is scattered on 13 pages.

Under assumption that at #4 starts certain tier of talent that lasts until, let's say, #8-#9, I'm curious what people think about this:

DET gets #7 overall '20, right to swap 1st round picks in '21
NJ gets #4 overall '20

I'm NJ fan and personally wouldn't do it (we don't really upgrade our prospect for this year and risk a lot for next year). I'm curious about the opinion of neutral fans and Detroit fans.
Love to trade back for potentially nothing

I dunno. I'm anticipating that Abdelader is going to score at least 10x as many goals as he did last season. That alone should skyrocket the Wings up the standings.
