Exactly, might as well of picked a 5'10 puck moving dman since that's what Myers plays like.

See, the is the common misconception I was talking about before. What does pure size do for a team? Absolutely nothing, it's assumed that big guys will be intimidating, or hit, or something of the sort but this guy does nothing of that sort. As I said, he's 6'7 but he plays like he's 5'10.

Honestly, I think the highlight of that thread is the Habs fan with a Lars Eller avatar on the second last page. Sabres fans are, at this point, just preprogrammed to think that anything their team does is retarded.

What's up with Pittsburgh singling out PK Subban for constant booing? He's played 20 NHL games, kinda weird for them to single out the a rookie (and sole) black player for that kind of treatment. The whole thing was somewhat distasteful in this age of Barack Obama.

Henrik Sedin NOT Captain Material (Video Proof)
First of all let me be the first to say that I'm a die hard Canuck fan! I've loved them since Bure danced end to end in his first NHL game against the JETS in the early
90's...

This post is in no way a critique on Henrik Sedin's play on the ice as I believe he is the best playmaker with the best vision and the best saucer pass in the NHL today which can be backed up by the Art Ross and Hart trophy he won last year.

Now to my point, I was strongly suggesting that the Canucks make Ryan Kesler the captain and give the "A" to the Sedin bros. Kesler I believe is the type of No guts no Glory leave it all on the ice, block shots, kill penalties, grind type of Captain this team needs. Henrik is a leader in the locker room, people respect him and he is the best player on the Canucks. However please take a look at this video again when Rypien grabs the fan. I think everyone has been so shocked at what Rypien did that we have forgetten to notice the rest of the picture. 1st Rypien gives Henrik a little shove ( thats not exactly respecting the Captain nor did Henrik do anythign about it) then the incident... Look at what Henrik does....He sees that Rypien grabs the fan.....stares at it for 3 long seconds....what does he do next?? he walks away and skates on to the ice as if nothing is happening while Malhotra, Bieksa, Kesler all comes to the aid of Rypien to pull him off to make sure nothing else happens. IN FACT- Henrik Sedin was the closest player to Rick Rypien at the beginning of the incident!

video evidence starts at 1:07 (please keep your eye on H Sedin)

is this the Captain we want?

Unequivocal proof!

malhotra talks to rypien, hank talks to rypien for a few seconds before rick pushes him and goes after the fan, AV immediately pushes Rypien down the tunnel while Malhotra chirps and Bieksa taps the dude with his stick, henrik skates off to...i dunno talk to a ref?

this is the same poster who made a thread about Dreger reporting the Canucks will move Bieksa ASAP and throw in a completely bullshit claim that Dreger reported the Canucks were looking to move Bieksa + Hodgson for Jeff Carter

Its time to sell everything we have for a new team.

I don't know if any one else feels this way but we've tried "retooling" sooooooooooooo many times in the past and its failed.

For some teams retooling works, but only if you already have a good core and only the supporting players are not playing well.

I would be so happy if Burke sold every player that has value on this team for prospects and picks, AND STOPS TRADING FIRST AND SECOND ROUND PICKS

I don't know if this fully qualifies, but

Quote:
Schnieder is close to being the 1a in Vancouver. That is, if Luongo were to be out of the picture, the Canucks would go with Schnieder (much like they went with Auld, when Cloutier was hurt).

He's not going anywhere unless some team mounts an offer that can't be refused. Boston has two goalies and would get the first call from a desperate team. Schnieder can't be traded within the division. These are limiting factors, there are others.

During the off-season the riegning Cup winner couldn't find work for some time. Teams could have signed him with no trade-off. Why wait for Schnieder?

No market. No impetus. No need for speculation.

Yes, 1a is the guy who comes in when your starter is hurt.

Teams rarely overpay for goaltenders in trades. Like, if Halak is worth Lars Eller, then an ultimately unproven Schneider is not going to bring back what your average Canucks fan probably thinks they're going to get.

Heck, master-trader Brian Burke wasn't able to fetch anything for Bryzgalov.
