Yeah it was a real failing for the league to build the London market with so many marquee match-ups and then schedule the game in the middle of the night for them

During the game I asked my Pats fan friends (I was at erstwhile user bambamdiggadiggadam's house) if it would be surprising if Tom Brady had a colonoscopy at halftime of every game and I was informed that you're sedated for a colonoscopy, but ultimately we agreed that it would be more surprising if Tom Brady didn't have an enema at halftime

One of the local schools did a day-off today because the Patriots are in the Super Bowl and I'm pretty amused by the thought of the kids being at home, just stewing over Brady throwing 500+ yards and losing.

Shit I was being sarcastic but yeah there so many games in London this year and most places close at 11 here. it would've made such a different to even kick off two hours earlier.

I like the idea of the NFL deciding to hold the Super Bowl in London and it ends up having the Jaguars play the Rams or whichever teams have most often played in London

When I was in Vegas two weeks ago, I saw an insane amount of Patriots jerseys (what did I expect?) and one lonely Jaguars jersey at a blackjack table with #69 on it and the name SEND NUDES.

I'm not making this up.

It was Sunday and I felt it to be inappropriate.

So of course I waited until I got to the bathroom to take them but then he was gone when I got back.

Did I ever tell the story about going to the 9ers game in London? I think I did, it was when I won the contest for kids to meet Goodell.

Anyways, the English fans LOVED any kicking play. Kickoff, FGs, PATs, and especially punts. I always thought it was just because it was something they recognized, but the QBs that day were Troy Smith and Kyle Orton.

The 49ers and QB Jimmy Garoppolo have agreed to a five-year, $137.5 million contract, source says. The biggest deal in NFL history on a average-per-year basis.

Well he's gettin paid like one for sure.

I think he's legit. Got that sweet release, moves around the pocket like Brady, puts it where only his man can catch it. Plus if Shanahan think he fits that offence he should put up #s.

As for the contract, it would have been tough to overpay him. The 9ers have like $100+ million in cap space this year so they can front load this like a mother. Was hoping for ~$25M, but that's what Carr got an we knew it would above that. Mostly hoped for under $30M so I'm happy for that.

Plus Rodgers, Natty Ice, and Couins all will probably break this "record" in the next few months, followed by Russ Wilson and Big Ben (if he doesn't retire) next year.

It's a dumb amount of money in the way that most big athletic contracts are dumb. Like, sure. That's the market value, but it is Dumb Money.

I want the donkeys to sign a “good enough” QB and spend a lot of that Dumb Money on offensive linemen. But I know Elway won’t do that. He’s got a boner for making a big dumb QB splash.

Man I had never seen the video of Baker Mayfield's pathetic attempt to "flee" before:

https://youtu.be/x4L54P2gTP4

That feeble run should give teams more pause than the fact he was arrested. The cop who tackles him should get a try out based on that video though, he rocks him.

Speaking of Mayfield, Johnny Football's comments about him and Kaepernick are downright articulate. I think the dude has actually matured. Hope he tears up the CFL this year and gets another chance at the NFL.

I was fortunate enough to hear about 20 seconds of Cris Collinsworth last night, which was just enough to convince me he's still not over the Patriots losing the Super Bowl six months ago.
