What't the damage on that puppy?

it was $1,550

i sold a piece of junk i had laying around to cover part of it and then had some cash from our art gallery project so in the end I think it was like $400 out of pocket

i mean the whole thing was "out of pocket" but i suppose i just chose to allocate money/justify it in ways that it feels like it only cost me $400

I own a PS3 and an XBox 360 and have barely played a game on either since Kid Artillery arrived

Haven't had the slightest temptation to buy a PS4 or XBONEX

I made a drunk purchase at an art opening last night. I really love the piece but man did I wake up wondering what the fuck I was thinking.

It was $1200. Anyway, the weirdest part of the whole experience was how much attention people paid to me after which I did NOT enjoy. I guess the implication is that some guy throwing that money around has tons of it, which I don't, I just am getting a bonus at work and like art. Also, booze.

The whole thing created a lot of new experiences for my brain, though.

Like, some young interior decorator woman gave me her card. The thought of bringing an interior decorator over to my shitty apartment is, actually, amazing.

I dunno if art is write-offable. I can write off all my music purchases (including a percentage of records), though, since I make money from that.

As a musician, do you need a business number or something to write off stuff?

Nope. I do have an HST number, though, since I had to collect that on my freelance web stuff.

I went to a charity beer festival that included a live auction and silent auction component. A guy I went with bought a set of four pretty rare and pretty highly regarded beers for $2600 in the live auctiob. He makes good money and was happy to donate but he's not rich or anything. He got an absurd amount of attention from the moment he won, just totally relentless. Everyone wanted a piece of him. We got the hell out of there shortly after.
