Few observations from my limited watching today.

Why all the pink being worn? I think it looks pretty cool but like half the field is in pink and I'm just wondering why.

Brooks Koepka is a dude I would not want to have a fistfight with.

Seems like the USGA failed in keeping the scores near par this weekend. Fleetwood MACTAVISH! and Phil Hartman are -12.

Mitsubishi might win this thing. Rickie is running out of opportunities.

So for the past few weeks I've been stopping into the sick-ass used golf store in Calgary, because my mom was in it the last time they were in town and saw the driver she wanted, didn't buy it, and then asked me to buy it later that day. But apparently this is the most popular ladies driver of all time so the guys working there just laugh at me every time I go in.

Anyways I went in today and ended up buying myself a new set of irons. I've been using the same generic set of hand-me-downs since I started playing. I was thinking pretty hard about a new set of Ping G30s but realized I am in no way good enough to justify $750 on golf clubs. Ended up with an old set of near perfect Ping Zings for $200. (I'm a Ping loyalist, they seem like the best game-improvement brand in the game, their driver and woods mostly cured my slice, and I like supporting a Phoenix company)

But I forgot about the coloured dot thing on the back - these are green dots, and according to my normal height and apparently long arms I'm supposed to be using like an orange.

Luckily it sounds like using a too upright lie would cause me to hook more than anything, so it actually might cancel out with my natural slice. Also, again, I'm nowhere near good enough for this to materially affect me.

Yo 2PEENZ how are the new sticks? My dads got the green dot pings but I think they are G20s or something. Whatever they are they're cavitybacks and I'm stubborn and still play blades.

Yeah that happens sometimes bud. Thing about golf clubs is they're made from steel and will probably be around next weekend.

Yeah especially at this age. Beer pong and flip cup were not necessary.

I'm going to see my nephew in the rodeo this weekend, then have another party the weekend after that, so it could be 3 weeks until I really get to use them on a course :( I'm sure I'll make it to the range before then, I live right by one for cripes sake.

Yeah man I live right off the third green of a golf course that I habitually sneak on and I haven't played in a pretty long time.

Kooch has developed a bit of a Furyk loop in his backswing.

I was just thinking his swing looks goofy.

Good to know Spieth slices it as bad as me sometimes.

I didn't see much of the round, but the thought occurred to me that the difference between someone like Spieth and me besides like 20 years and a whole shitload of talent is that he can correct an error within the same round that it takes me literally months to get over, namely the pulling of putts to the left. I had a huge mechanical problem with turning my wrists over and I swear I just got over it. He did that for the first few holes then fixed it.

So users captain or 2PEENZ do you know where I can get a good looking golf shirt or two? I went to golf Galaxy fka Golfsmith and all they had were muted grays/blacks/blues. I just want something to spice up the wardrobe because that's about all I have.

I have a real cool Pebble Beach and a Ballyneal shirt that are both too big for me now (I've shrunk incredibly since February.)

I know it's the Chive and awful and all but I have the old fashioned shirt:

https://www.williammurraygolf.com/collections/all#polos

I also like these:

https://www.criquetshirts.com/men/the-players-shirt?offset=0&limit=30

I've also got a Bonobos golf shirt that is plain looking but comfortbale, and every time I'm in a pro-shop I'm drawn to the Under Armour shirts but they're for Nazis so...

Always been partial to JL stuff, but it's mostly plain looking too.

Well there you go. First link...colors! Surely I can find something. I felt like I wandered into a rest home today. I did buy a pair of khaki long sleeve pants but fuck man they go with everything and all I had was gray in pants.

Thanks bud!
