Caco I'm not sure anyone hates their favourite team as much as you. It's great!

So many times I'll see a string of comments from you and think "oh man, how badly did they get creamed" and I check the score and they won. (As the SNES have also proved at times in the semi-recent past, winning games != "good", so of course I understand...)

I get a kick out of it, too, but to Cacophony's credit, they were playing the Kings, so winning 4-3 in OT is like losing 5-1 to a good team. Kaprizov having three points in his debut seems pretty good!sutterfamily wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:47 amSo many times I'll see a string of comments from you and think "oh man, how badly did they get creamed" and I check the score and they won. I would like to believe that my takes on the Red Wings are, if anything, too optimistic.

Laine really upping his trade value last night. Played maybe the best game I've seen him play in a long time.

I've never doubted that Laine could dominate, not sure if it was an effort issue or a linemate concern. Is he back with Stastny?
Re: Thee Officialle 2021 NHL Season Thread: Catch the Fever!
He played with Stastny and Connor, with Ehlers playing with Scheifele and Wheeler. Connor and Laine seemed to have great chemistry; Stastny basically let them take charge and didn't do anything to slow them down. If Laine can be the kind of player who can drive a line as a winger as he did last night, then he's found another gear that I'm not sure I expected. And he *really* wanted to fight Tkachuk after he jumped on Hanifin after coming to Connor's defense after a boarding call -- took a gloveless swing, but the officials were all over them.
His exclusion from The Athletic's top 100 list a few days ago must've been good motivation

Laine was a on a mission last night.
Mission to get traded or mission to get paid? I dunno, maybe both, but he was at another level.

That play where McDavid burst in on Edler (?) and threw on the breaks looked like slalom skiing.

Does this work?
Re: Thee Officialle 2021 NHL Season Thread: Catch the Fever!
that was a fun game
4th line is real bad however. i know everyone's thinking "stop complaining about the 4th line" but they've already been outscored 4-0 at even strength and there's no offensive ability there

Are there other guys (taxi squad I guess) who could cycle onto the fourth line?
Re: Thee Officialle 2021 NHL Season Thread: Catch the Fever!
Forgot that the JERTS' save of the night was by Derek Forbert, which led to a great pass and even better shot for the JERTS' first goal:

Is that the list where Austen Matthews is listed as being one of the three best players in the league?nick wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:05 amHe played with Stastny and Connor, with Ehlers playing with Scheifele and Wheeler.
