The Knights announcers coolly referring to the team as VGK is really annoying.

0-16 on the PP to start the season. Probably the best game they have played overall tonight so it will be very Minnesota if this score holds.

Wings have had 6 through 3 games (they have not scored on any of them)

Welp Gibson was just on it tonight, but the center depth issue is probably gonna kill this season. Which is fine! I just hope they don't waste a year of Rossi's ELC hoping they can just throw a band aid on their most obvious issue.

Talbot sure looks good at least.

Based on seeing all of the bottom dwellers in the Pacific I think the 4th spot is actually Arizona's to lose.

Is Rossi's injury specifically known or is it, like everything else in this NHL season, incredibly nebulous?

I'll I've seen is that he's out 'indefinitely.' I still would like to see him get a shot, but with the shortened season and the Wild far from a lock for the playoffs (and definitely in for their signature first round exit), I just don't think it makes sense. Let him play in Europe and then re-evaluate in camp next season. I imagine Bonino and Bjugstad will no longer be around, maybe Rask as well, so first line center is probably his by default.

Tippett did some fake "accountability" crap and scratched Bear who is objectively their second best defenceman because he "didn't like his effort on the 5th goal" in a 5-1 loss.

As usual, all of the passengers who contribute nothing get to stay in the lineup, contributing nothing.

Eh I don't think the Coyotes (or whichever team does get that fourth spot) makes the playoffs because they did well against Vegas / St. Louis / Colorado, it's all about how they handle the other bad teams.

I still think they'll get that spot but if they have injuries (OEL's out short-term right now) or the scoring-by-committee approach doesn't pan out, I could see anyone outside of LA sneaking in.

Canes / Shreds being delayed is a concern, especially since 1. the Wings played the Canes a few days ago and there were COVID issues after that game 2. Between these two teams and Dallas, three of of the Wings' seven opponents will have had COVID postponements.

This paragraph from The Athletic's recap made me laugh
Curtis Lazar: The center had the second two-goal game of his career, matching his night against Toronto on Feb. 6, 2016. Coach Ralph Krueger said he expected more offense from Lazar this season, and the seventh-year veteran is already just four goals shy of matching his career high of six.
