The Athletic's BLOT beat talks about something I'd considered
“Guys have the option to do so or not, and it seems like most guys are willing to do it,” Coleman said. “And wanting to protect ourselves and avoid any issues going into the playoffs and things like that. Florida is starting to roll it out here, and it’s exciting for guys like us that are under such strict protocol, to move the needle and we hope to get back to a little more of a normal hockey life.”

The one challenging part, however, is the timing. The Lightning are coming off a stretch of eight games in 13 days, including a weeklong road trip, and players want to make sure they’re not dealing with side effects on game days.

Said Coleman: “You don’t want half the team feeling flu-like symptoms during your game the next day.”
I know some NBA players don't want to get it, I sure hope most NHLers do.

Yeah, Vancouver was hit hard by an outbreak (stemming from Whistler, I believe) and it's not good there overall.

it's been a fun week.

the ski resorts got hit hard over spring break, the government shut down whistler, and big white closed voluntarily because they kept getting out of towners and a restaurant there had a big illegal party.

Did anything come out of the "Demko doesn't wear a mask at his apartment building" tweets?

I wasn’t sure if it was confirmed he was being negligent or anything

The situation sounds totally miserable

Yeah this Canucks/Brazil variant situation sounds like it's much worse than I initially realized. There was talk on HNIC about the Canucks possibly not finishing the season.

I'm sure their argument will be that "Oh we could make the playoffs if we have a chance to play those games" but right now they're six points back of Montreal with three more games played and it's possible that they could be mathematically eliminated before the four extra games against the SNES.

That would be smart rescheduling, leave the games against the SNES until the end and then (probably) don't play them.

I saw something about the SNES games being April 17 through 22 and that would push the season back a full week

FOR WHAT

James Mirtle's "Five trades the Leaves could do" piece in The Athletic is funny to begin with, but uh this commenter
Yeah probably the most realistic options. I feel like almost all of these players would only add pretty marginally to our team though considering all of our forwards and defence are capable — our worst D was serviceable on TB last year. Why not swing for the fences a little more when you have the chance? And perhaps go for a goalie who has maybe had a history of playoff success, or a player who is a proven difference-maker in the offs? Seem to be the only things we’re really missing. Not supposed be easy (“realistic”) to make the trade.

It’s crazy, but getting someone like Patrick Kane somehow, some way is what we need to do. A guy like that could make a real difference for us. These other guys could make a negligible one. Dubas has one of the most desirable jobs in the world, he should be great at it and make it work. I’m talking to myself here, but a top 2 lines of Hyman Matthews Marner and Kane Tavares Nylander would be insane in the playoffs.

Robertson, a first or two or three, kerfoot, possibly liljegren and a lot of salary retention by Chicago, other teams could be what gets us a Stanley. Break the mould KD

I wish the Red Wings would think about just going out and acquiring a solid young goalie from a team that definitely doesn't need him, Glendening for Spencer Knight git er dun Stevie
How about Jake Oettinger from Dallas as a trade target? He would address the Leafs’ biggest risk to its season. He’s having a decent season for a young goalie on an ELC, is waiver exempt and expansion draft exempt. He would also solidify our goalie tandem for the future. I would rather overpay to address one of the Leafs’ biggest concerns for now and the future. Dallas already has Bishop and Khudobin for 2 more seasons after this one and the Kraken would be unlikely to select one of them in the Expansion draft. Dallas just might be willing to listen on Oettinger and the price would be high but taking a look at available goalies in free agency to team up with Campbell, it looks bleak.

Gotta love it when your PP has Nick Bonino and Victor Rask on it!
