The line about how he recognized how he usually hires people he knows and then said "Well now that I've realized that I need to work against it" is Yzerman in a nutshell -- most GMs would just yammer on about how they need someone they trust or with experience. I'm more tempted by Larianov (who just took a KHL job and won't be hired by the Wings) than Fedorov, but I think the Swedish coaches are more likely and even then, my guess is he'll go with someone like Benoit Groulx.

I really just don't want a retread like Torts or Paul Maurice. Or some sociopathic Wings fans have brought up Babcock and Quenneville, fuck that so hard.
