Given how the Wings' last game against the Caps went, that one could be over

At first I was like "what on earth kind of take is this" then I clued in that it was probably a Leafs fan trying to say that Matthews is better than McDavid and then checked the profile and... yeah

Now, I'm all for a Matthews Hart convo - makes sense. 69 (nice) goals, maybe 70+, it's awesome.

TSN just listed montreal's CORE 4 and one of them was Mike Matheson? He's having a very good year, yeah. But he's 30?

Oooh, if SNES can hold on and then the Panthers hang on to beat the Leafs it's BOS/TOR in round 1? I didn't know that was still possible.

Wow, so PHI was already eliminated but pulled their goalie tied 1-1 which gave the Caps a free goal basically

(I mean, like a minute earlier so assume they didn't know they were eliminated?)

Would be wild if that secures the playoff spot for Washington

Broons tanked their last two games (including one against the Caps) to play Toronto instead of Tampa, right?

Nah. They were just (understandably) not particularly motivated to try hard. But even then, shots were 20-1 for Boston in the third last night, Forsberg made many great saves.

I guess I can understand seeing “lost to Ottawa” and thinking this and I definitely understand not watching this game at all! But they were trying very, very hard in the third. Took the first two periods off, yeah. Don’t blame them - they wanna play a lot of playoff hockey and they still almost won that game only playing 20 minutes of it

I am most nervous about the schedule. I fear there will be multiple 8pm et/1am real time starts. I might have a nervous breakdown if this happens.

I was mostly basing this on them having eight shots on Washington through two periods in the previous game (and people saying proposing the theory on Twitter).

Supposedly they match up better against Toronto than Tampa, but I do think Toronto's a better team than Tampa so who knows
