2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Carolina's tries revolutionary new strategy: Never lose games

It would be hard to draw up a mor le excruciating final 2 mins for SNES fans, down to the late obviously no chance but still there's a chance faceoff with 2 seconds on the clock
Re: 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Buffalo Sabres excited about opportunity for new way to crush their fans
At about 2:30 left Stu makes one his famous zone entries controls the puck through the centre of the ice basically into the far corner then skates back along the wall to the point then does an imitation Quinn Hughes kinda stop and change direction to his forehand kinda sloppy/tired but no one was checking him close anyway, so he has a bit of time to think, then he fires a pass at Batherson who is skating up the wall basically to the area Stu occupies and he has to make a real skill take and touch to even keep the play alive. Then it's 30 seconds of crazy hard work by exhausted SNES that end in nothing. Then they don't put a player out for the 6 on 5

Josh Doan is so good, shame his dad ran a scam consultancy to steal Auston Matthews signing bonus while on MLSE payroll

SNES Canes second period is predictably a shit show. I don't understand not even giving Taylor Hall a fine for a direct head hit that concussed the Sens best player. It wasn't a five-alarm hit or anything but it's still a headshot.

Greig is a real piece of garbage.

What's the record for most 5-on-3's in a series without scoring a goal. Gotta be close to this?

How much of this was Sando being out vs. some missing element in the unit?sutterfamily wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 5:17 pm What's the record for most 5-on-3's in a series without scoring a goal. Gotta be close to this?

Uhh, I mean they missed Sanderson today obviously (and Zub after game 1, a healthy Chabot, a healthy Kleven, etc) but I don't think that was the thing. Feels like the missing element - they had chances to:Grand Moff Larkin wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 6:09 pm

- tie game 1

- tie game 3
- win game 4
and nobody could convert. Canes second line was so good, first line was pretty bad except for those two empty netters today.
Tkachuk was pretty bad most of the series. Stutzle was trying to do too much, made some very bad plays.
The power play was SO bad + credit to Canes PK. I'm literally glad I don't have to watch another one!
Not sure what the answer(s) is/are but they were not up to the Canes standard. I dunno - try not to finish in the WC next year? Some kind of trade for a goal-scorer? (I have a hare-brained maybe idea that they should try to trade Brady to Dallas for Robertson)

At the very least, it was good to know that Ullmark can absolutely be the goalie they need.

At least I got to take out the pain on the ice - my team swept our bear league finals 2 games to 0 for the championship

Pretty impressive for Brady to top the Riddler, considering that Grieg is unquestionably the much dirtier player.

The difference is that Brady is obnoxious to look at even when he’s not doing something dirty.
