Hakansson was a guy I thought the Wings might take at 23, surprised they passed on him twice. Seems like a safe 4/5 guy.

Supposedly Werenski wants to go to the Leaves and play with Matthews? Who knows.
Aside from Knies and I guess Cowan, I'm not sure who else the Beej would want / possibly get.

Answer to this was 0. Other than Taillefer. Including the kid who broke Lafreniere's U15 AAA scoring record and went top 5 in the Q draft.Alexei Ca$hin wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2026 2:52 pm And now Alex Taillefer to Jets. Will be very interesting to see how many of the top Q 2008s get picked in the late rounds.

Montreal trades over-beloved prospect Joshua Roy to the Mammoth for Maksymilian Szuber, a defenseman who seemed to be doing OK in the AHL
Vancouver trades Nils Hoglander to the Shreds for a 2029 3rd

i was on a golf trip during trade central but i'm loving what i'm seeing
the rangers getting dorofeyev for 2 1sts and $77 million is absolutely insane to me but I guess he's just the panarin replacement?

it feels like if nurse gets moved it's going to be to one of a few teams and we are going to get a shitty contract back, which makes me hope they don't move him. the rumours are ducks (vatrano), flyers (couturier), pens and bruins (???)
i would rather an overpaid useful player than an overpaid healthy scratch

I don’t have the fancy stats to back it up, but from watching them, Panarin is far, far more of a line driver than Dorofeyev is. I don’t see how he sniffs 40 goals being centered by Zibanejad or Trocheck (and it’s hard to see them trading Trocheck if they’re still going for it).

I’ve seen Mason Lohrei as a potential return from Boston in a Nurse deal, and that guy would make you miss Nurse. He has the tools but the hockey sense is Not Great.

he seems like a really good secondary piece but not a line driver. i don't really have a problem with 2 late 1sts as the price on a guy like that but why would you spend that AND give him $77 millionneuartillery wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 1:08 pmI don’t have the fancy stats to back it up, but from watching them, Panarin is far, far more of a line driver than Dorofeyev is. I don't mind the SNES picks in the first round - they are absolute moon shot hail marys but probably worth it at this point.
What I am baffled by is using picks to trade for Burakovsky (he's fine but even best-case scenario here doesn't move the needle in any way) and especially Ersson who was is straight-up objectively terrible

Those were really late picks so I don’t think they’re missing anything prospect-wise from sending out a sixth rounder, but Ersson is Very Bad and Burakovsky couldn’t get many points on a team where he had every opportunity to play top six minutes. There’s a reason why those guys are available for practically nothing.

Panthers assembling the most loathsome team ever concocted.Anaheim has traded the signing rights of Radko Gudas to Florida for the signing rights to AJ Greer.

Hmm. AJ Greer is pretty bad, too. Gudas is worse for sure but at least it's a partial loathsome increase overall on the team vs the totality of adding Gudas to the existing core.

I don't care for Greer but I also don't dread playing a team with him on it like with Gudas. That guy is trying to injure guys every time.

I just don't get what the Rangers are doing. Like do they think more health + Dorofeyev is enough to get them back in the playoffs? Are they selling Trocheck or keeping him? The acquisition cost for Dorofeyev was about right, and it's the sort of move I would've liked to see the Wings make before the Larkin trade request, but I don't see how NYR will maximize his production enough to be back in the picture.captain wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 1:29 pmhe seems like a really good secondary piece but not a line driver. i don't really have a problem with 2 late 1sts as the price on a guy like that but why would you spend that AND give him $77 millionneuartillery wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 1:08 pmI don’t have the fancy stats to back it up, but from watching them, Panarin is far, far more of a line driver than Dorofeyev is. Leaves pass on Maccelli’s QO and sign Stecher to a cheap two year deal
