New League management app! PLEASE USE

#1 Post by sutterfamily »

Hey GM buds,

Trying out a new way for us to manage stuff in this league that should hopefully dramatically decrease all the manual work we need to do around drafts, end of season contract work, RFA process, drafting, etc

If you could please go to https://clfl.vercel.app/ and login with a gmail account (I assumed we all have one, it was easier than building a complete authentication system) then let me know (maybe via DM) which email is you + your team (some I will know, some I won't) and I'll approve the account and link you to your team

There's currently a few features:

1. dashboard - look at your team's performance, cap and contract situation situation. there's an attempt at some analysis stuff but i'm not sure it's working well! but the graphics look nice and you can see how good/bad your team is in each category
2. players - this kinda duplicates the same players view
3. sync fantrax + stats - this refetches all the player/team data from fantrax and updates the player data. Please don't do this repeatedly! I should add a cooldown so it can only be run every 30 mins or something. it has no real e
4. edit player data - clicking on a player name allows you see contract data and to make some edits.

I need to use Adam's whole-league spreadsheet to fill in some missing data that I didn't have as I only had access to limited or out-of-date team spreadsheets.

It's so easy to add features to this, kind of unreal how far agentic coding has come but wanna come up with a list

The only thing we can't do is send updates FROM this site to Fantrax - fantrax doesn't have APIs to set anything, only read.

1. add a player contract view that looks more like the spreadsheets where you can visualize contracts by season
2. add an end of season mode to produce UFA and RFA lists
3. Offer sheet signing season
4. Add draft picks and draft function
5. contract buy-outs
6. trade-and-retain salary

Any other requests?

Also, if anyone wants access to the sourcecode in github, send me your github username and I'll invite you.

It's basically just typing what I want to build into Claude and then some minor configuration stuff - crazy how easy it is now to build a simple thing from scratch. Approved your account

We have five GMs in now

I can't get the Google sign in window to open on Firefox. I've allowed popups etc.

I finally had a chance to look, pretty slick. Can you explain some of the roster categories such as value, need value, trade rank and market?

I imagine need value is how much your team needs that player, given your current stats/standings/projections, but just wondering how you assign that value

Yeah, I started this out as a tool just for me to be able to try to evaluate my players - tbh, I just let the bot do whatever and I haven't dug in. (I dunno if you've done agentic coding but it's wild how quickly you can do super complex things from scratch)

When I have a chance I'll remove those for now and maybe create a new "evaluate" page?

The whole dashboard page needs more work and when I made that I didn't have the idea that this would be useful for other people but once I got going I could tell I should just share it and saw it as a nice way to remove spreadsheets/mental load from all the GMs and streamline end-of-season stuff!

Oh I think it's fine and interesting to keep if you want, but including a guide for what they mean might be interesting

Yeah, I "did" this with a one-shot prompt while cooking dinner. Moved to "analysis" tab and there's a legend.

I think the "need weighting" dropdown at the top is broken, I'll need to dig into that.

Nice, approve you and practice.

For anyone in the app, lemme know if anything isn't working or you want different features.
