Earned point.

Tomorrow would be a great day to trade Larkin.

Larkin failing so that the Wings lose feels like a microcosm at least

I was surprised by how bad Larkin was on draws. Like 9 for 26?

In terms of a Larkin trade, 1. I don’t think they’re going to get more than ten teams, even if most of them aren’t tenable. 2. The Wings will have to take back cap 3. Aside from Utah (which seems unlikely given their trade for Trocheck), the best case scenario seems to be using Larkin as a shadow bidding war for Quinn Hughes in the summer between Minnesota and NJ. Guerin needs to get Larkin or I think Quinn walks, NJ could prevent that from happening and upgrade their top six.

Agreed, this seems like the framework. Sorry, Habs and beat writers.

The part I grapple with is yet another lost season on Seider's tab. I've expected as much since the moment the Yzerman move, but for some reason have held out hope that they can get a few things done to right the ship. Then everything else has happened.

I also need to stop reading the internet. The "rumors" and (DET) fan expectations are way too fucking high all around

Yeah I just saw “Desnoyes, Simashev, McBain, and a 1st”

On the flip side, Wild fans are out to lunch about how little they should have to send

There’s one Wild fan who trolls the comment sections of Red Wings articles on The Athletic that I would absolutely love to dunk in a toilet

Wild fans fly by Russo, who is a reactionary homer turd.

One of my coworkers teams messaged me over the summer like he was mad at me personally that the Red Wings hadn't just acquiesced and taken Guerin's best offer.

I think it's kind of appropriate that the league is so sick as short term people stop paying to attend games and medium term society breaks down. Like I'm excited to watch the Winter Outdoor Heritage Classic even at Harold V Bluebomber stadium, tonight at the pub with the ball hockey lads I was talking about Vigo Bjork who I'm interested to watch further when I sit down to watch the Winnipeg Western Heritage Classic on Sunday

Frankie Corrado (who guested as a Wings color guy once last season and was solid) ranked Larkin’s list today and it was interesting to see it less about the return and more about the potential fit.

If memory serves:

10 NJD
Colorado
Washington
Florida
Tampa
Vegas
Dallas
Utah
Carolina
1 Minnesota

Oddly someone else said he didn’t want Larkin to go to Utah because that would give them further reason not to prioritize their best player, Logan Cooley. But Larkin and Cooley together would be good! (And Desnoyers coming back in the trade)

People think maybe a Gibson trade?

I’d be fine with that, get a 2nd + prospect back. Maybe the Rangers get him?
