Athanasiou was tricky because the best game I saw him play was one where they gave him like 24 minutes of ice time, but his career post-Detroit totally validates their concerns over his defensive failings. Pretty funny to see his plus minus from those years.

Greek Lightning hasn’t played since 2024-2025, wonder what he’s up to.

He was definitely the most exciting player the Wings had for a couple of seasons. Not the best or the most well rounded, but seeing a guy shot out of a cannon onto a breakaway with a reasonable chance to finish was way better than the Adam Erne and Brendan Perlini show.
