Who knew that a late-season offensive explosion by the Sabres would win someone a championship?

I’m personally offended by this blatant attempt to jinx my boys.

But yeah, pretty lucky that Sam Reinhart finally started scoring. We’ll see if he can keep it up in week two. Lots of hockey left to play.

(I totally checked out weeks ago when I was gonna lose hard, so I understand sutterman's concern and thus like DTMB's idea.)

Looks like this one really is over barring some sort of Zdeno Chara 13 assist game. Hell of a series. Congrats, captain! My team just couldn't match the effort of 2014 Mark Messier Leadership Award winner, Dustin Brown.

If Chara does pull off those 13 assists, and Luongo + Rask combine for a double shutout, that will be the jinx of all jinxes

That was a hard-fought matchup. If it wasn't for that second shutout, you'd have had me. Well done, DTMB!

That was another good season, thanks to everyone for all of your participation.

Now that the league is over, I'm going to make a ruling on the Keller thing and change some rules.

I'm also going to entertain trade offers on Connor McDavid (seriously)

McDavid for Puljujarvi and Lucic

Might need to add a 4th

After doing some review through the history books, there's no precedent for a player with 75 GP being claimed at the end of a season, during the playoffs. Cashin claiming Keller did not result in a playoff victory.

As such, this is my ruling:
Sutterfamily retains Clayton Keller. However, his $3x3 ELC begins as of the 17/18 season, giving him 2 years left on his contract (making him a RFA during the summer of 2020.)

I'm also going to implement the following rule changes going forward:
-The prospect GP limit will be increased to 120 GP (from 75) for skaters and 75 GP (from 40) for goaltenders. This gives each GM approximately a season and a half to evaluate a prospect's performance and decide whether or not they wish to sign the prospect.

-Rosters are frozen at the conclusion of the CFL regular season. No signings (prospect or UFA), claims, or drops can be made between the end of the regular season and the conclusion of the playoffs*, regardless of prospect eligibility status. Any prospects that pass the eligibility threshold will be signed or released during the offseason.

*The only exception is for active playoff teams on an emergency injury call-up basis:
-If a player on an active playoff team becomes injured (Out, DTD, or IR status), the GM has the choice to sign a prospect to his ELC or to sign a free agent.
-All in-season free agent signing procedures will apply as usual (highest bid for 24 hours, etc.)
-If the GM replacing an injured player has a prospect who has passed the eligibility threshold (120 GP), the GM is not required to sign that player, though they may choose to.

I hope this works for everyone. Sound off in the comments below if you have any concerns.

Looks good to me as well. I'll trade you my next 69 picks for McJesus too.

I'm fine with this too.

I think that this rule change should solve most of the problem:

So I assume there is no "poaching" of a prospect available from the end of the regular season until the draft? If a prospect has passed the GP threshold and is not signed prior to our draft, he becomes a UFA available in the Auction Draft?

I'm not sure about increasing the prospect GP limit by that much though. 75 games seems like a lot for goalies.

Worst Picks:
Sam Bennett (3rd overall in 2014)
Marc Andre Gragnani (15th in 2011)
Nikolai Goldobin (15th in 2014)
