I play men's league with enough hockey dads to have already internalized this information.

But otherwise, yes, being a dad is the best job.

apparently there is a hurricane happening in Calgary right now and we might die? It sounds like someone is trying to shake my door open. This is insane, and we know wind.

I just watched a truck drive by and it looked like it had hydraulics because the wind was picking up the front end of it

We started looking for new places on Saturday, went to 2 showings, got called last night by both of them offering their places to us but needing us to decide right away.

So we picked our favourite, a decent seeming older apartment off commercial for 1600 which was ok with cats, and are signing the contract this morning. Not sure if we just got lucky, or acted too fast, but either way, was expecting a Vancouver housing search to last longer than 4 days.

We may also end up moving this year, but the delightful thing is that it likely won't happen until August or December and aside from a few potential places (Ann Arbor, Raleigh/Durham, Seattle), we don't know where it'll be!

The problem with Seattle is that we'd be super, super far away from our families.

I brought Boulder up as a potential landing spot, since we did like CO a lot, but it has the same issue of distance from our respective families.

I do suspect that we'll do another vacation out there at some point.

Yeah you’d be pretty remote west of the Mississippi....Boulder does (or at least did in the 1990s) have a top notch aerospace program.

Yeah FA knows someone who was hired there recently and the thing she attended there was a good experience, who knows. At this point I'm trying not to stress out about potential landing spots but guess what I still am.

A cool thing about being A Guy Who Accumulates Stuff is how the thought of moving all that stuff is purified panic attack. I own 2200 LPs, for fuck's sake.
