no idea why Pacioretty ever checked into this series. Lines are super weird and it will induce panic to introduce big changes like sitting McMann who's been terrible or splitting up Matthews and Marner. idk I don't think they played that bad. the first PP which lasted a minute looked great, if none of these so called stars can ever bury the looks they get in elimination games then I guess that's that. I guess the Matthews pass leading to the SH goal and Nylander's non-backcheck is a bit different, those are bad reads/efforts. was thinking how 2/3 of their best chances did not result in a shot on goal, the Matthews 2-on-1 which might as well have been a dump-in and Lorentz deciding to try to wait out Ullmark on the 2-on-0 in the 2nd. nice save on Marner point blank tho.

Not the way in which I imagined Fleury coming into this seriesIn a shocking turn of events, after Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson played a fantastic two periods, original Golden Knights goalie and Vezina Trophy winner Marc-Andre Fleury took over in the third period because Gustavsson was sick. Fleury, who is retiring after this season, had not appeared in a game for two weeks, since he stepped in during overtime of the Wild’s season finale.

Still surprised the BLOT bombed out that hard

One exactly right (it was pretty clear NJD was up against it with injuries and that only got worse), the other two pretty horribly wrong.sutterfamily wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 12:55 pm Jerts in 7
Avs in 5?
Vegas in 6
LA in 7
Habs in 7
Canes in 5
Lightning in 7
Leaves in 6
The Habs insane luck (finally, thankfully) ran into a big, cry-baby-facing wall. My pick on them was purely based on vibes/recent luck and the Caps are clearly the better team.
Did not see the BLOT/PANTH not being a long series, whoops.
I dunno what I was thinking on the Avs in five. I thought Dallas was banged up? Makar's been kinda a non-factor in that series, not helping.
I didn't bold it but I'm pretty sure the Kangs are done. Similar theme here in that I wasn't sure how healthy McDavid and Leon were. GOIL IN SIX!

On the panthers, I also wasn't sure about their health (esp Tkachuck and Barkov) but I guess that's doing a-ok.
