2nd goal on Helleybuck last night was one of the worst I have ever seen

3.96 GAA, .822% through 5 games. I legitimately have no idea what changes in his (otherwise best goalie on the planet) head once the playoffs start.

On The Athletic hockey podcast earlier this week, Jesse Spector talked about how Hellebuyck stays farther back in his net than most goalies, and how like 40% of the goals he’s allowed the last two playoffs have been tips or through traffic. Essentially that the focus on “traffic to the net” works against his style specifically.

I don’t watch him enough to know if that checks out, though.

On the panthers, I also wasn't sure about their health (esp Tkachuck and Barkov) but I guess that's doing a-ok.

Yeah I didn’t think Tkachuk would be ready. Ekblad had been out due to suspension, Jones hadn’t been great since getting there, they stumbled a lot in the last couple weeks (while sitting guys like Reinhart a lot to the detriment of Whale Emoji Fart Emoji).
