Rangers are sending the PNES their 12th overall pick this year and keeping next year's pick.

I'm trying to think of how this'll affect who's available for the Wings. My gut is that the PNES won't take two D (Aitcheson and Smith, for instance). Do they take one and Eklund? That seems more plausible.

I'd gotten too comfortable with the sense that Eklund would make it to them.

Everybody after pick 18 or so feels like a normal second rounder, and everyone slated for the second round feels like a 3rd rounder most years. I don't know if Jiricek pans out, but it's a good bet vs. this draft.
