But it did seem insanely long. I couldn't watch, picked up a friend from the airport and then we drove north amid the "fleeing city for lake country on a long weekend traffic", got here at like 9pm and SNES still hadn't drafted.

Seems fine? Or good? Or bad? At 23 it's hard to get too passionate about anything especially for a team with a system that needs pretty much everything. Mild surprise they didn't take a forward? Ever more surprising is that internet Draft Guys seem to be happy about it. Wheeler put them in the "winners" column? That seems like a stretch, tho, not to look a gift grade in the mouth (and feels like this is a very rare year where they didn't get shit on. I think even the 2020 draft first round grade was panned as poor value at the time...)

Moving down two spots to grab an extra 3rd seemed like a good value move, seems like they woulda drafted Hensler at 21 anyway.

Yeah SNES seem like borderline winners in Wheeler’s book, but it’s better to trade down and still get your guy than to trade up to reach for a dude or trade down and still reach for a dude. Dubas in particular absolutely galaxy-brained this draft.

If Gibson works out, I think Detroit makes the playoffs. If he does well but they’re falling short, I think they can get that at the deadline. Great trade.
