CFL 2025-2026 Discussion: Mason Lohrei Bar Mitzvah

#1 Post by Grand Moff Larkin »

Is FanTrax vaguer on player injury status stuff now or is that a league-wide thing? I've had a handful of guys (Duchene, Thomas, Quinn Hughes) miss a handful of games in a row and FanTrax says "They'll be back for the next game." Lies!

I'm not really sure. I'm still in a Yahoo league and it doesn't really feel any different. I own Mac Blackwood in both leagues and its as a total mystery that he was injured and had no idea what he would be back. Yahoo was annoyingly shuttling him between NA/IR+ because I guess he was sent down for conditioning, which forced me to take him off IR to make other moves.

It could just be the NHL getting even more cagey with this stuff. I don't own Patrick Kane this year, but as a Wings fan it's "Maybe he'll be back after the games in Buffalo and Long Island" to "He won't play in St. Louis but he could play later in the road trip" to "Maybe he'll play when they get back to Detroit." I don't even know what his injury is! (And I was at the game where he got hurt)

I keep accidentally assigning guys to the minors. Lundell was doing a stint down in the fantrax AHL for me last night while putting up 1g1a in real life

after figuring out a few things my only remaining (extremely minor) gripes with fantrax are:

-lack of 'start active players' button that does the whole week
-goalies being listed under prospect skaters for some reason

There's a start active players option on the app -- it's the three green lines and green 'play' icon to the left of the "Period (date)". If you hit it you're taken to a page where you can start active players for today, the rest of the scoring period or a custom number of days.

I'm glad it's mostly working

I can change the option so that it limits who can be put in the minors but if you have a guy who is signed, underperforming in the NHL, and you want to send him down, it might prevent you from doing so... I can investigate if y'all are open to it being a little janky for a minute

I need a Kadri Klaus rules clarification on exactly that.

Mason Lohrei is at 129 GP, signed to ELC, now getting healthy scratched 5 games in a row. Is he eligible to go to the minors? Or no, as soon as you hit 120 GP?

I think he's treated as if he's a normal dude now, which would mean keeping him on your bench or waiving him completely

Yeah I agree. I thought so too. The 140 game mark is just the window for a prospect to be signed before becoming UFA, correct?

Lohrei should stay on your team or be waived

Kadri Klaus is in effect when a player who is established NHLer for our purposes (no longer a prospect) gets sent down to the AHL or some other minor league. If that happens to Lohrei, you can bury him while he's down there. Otherwise, you have to carry him.

As a guy who carried 10 games of Chinakhov healthy scratch already this year... I would know!
