Kid Artillery got a new cat the weekend after Olive passed away. I was sure that if they went to the Humane Society, she'd come home with one, and sure enough, she did. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions since then, though, because she loves the new cat (Lynx, who is a long-haired gray cat with tufts of hair coming out of her ears) but misses Olive a lot, so there's a lot of sudden sobbing. This weekend she was scheming to adopt more cats, and no.

My daughter would say "You know what would really help? Adopting five more cats!"
