Russo's story about Marco Rossi's ongoing recovery is rough, especially the part about Rossi asking his parents to sleep by his bed because he was worried he was going to die in his sleep
Jesus, I just read the story. Rossi is still only taking short walks.

The way the pulled himself after the pre-game warmup the other night was very strange.

It's Montreal though, so the reason is definitely: a) slept with teammate's wife; b) hooked on coke; c) ties to the mafia; d) all of the above.

The first comment on The Athletic's news piece for it was moderated out, judging from the sub-comments for attacking his play

Similar vibes to the first comment on the Rossi story being half about Rossi needing to come over and be the 1C / half about how much Victor Rask needs to go

Good piece in The Athletic today about the difficulty of playing in Montreal and a bunch of very telling comments on it
Sorry disagree! These athletes are paid enormous amounts of money to play a sport that we played as kids. All we ask is that they perform to their talents. When you see them make ridiculous plays or mistakes over and over, it is frustrating as a fan to watch and not get angry and disillusioned with the players and the team. If they don't like the criticism then go out and perform. If they can't take the heat, then go get a minimum wage job and see how the average Joe lives. Maybe a dose of reality for these millionaires is what is needed to get them to appreciate the job they have and the excellent compensation that comes with it. So, perform or quit. That's life, doesn't matter where you play. The fans want the performance you are paid to deliver. Whether in Montreal or New York or Chicago wherever.

wow, what complete nonsense. No doubt Jo has issues, but his issues stem from other places which he needs to deal with. You want a high paying job as a CEO or Elite Athlete or a Fund Manager .. sorry to break the news to you, its comes with expectations. If Jo can't manage the pressure he should just walk away and deal with his issues. Luckily, Jo has the benefit of being able to do so and not worry about having the funds to cover his rent, his food or his car payment. Lots of working folks feel pressure every day , but they suck it up and do the job they are paid to do.

Tell fans to relax and chill ?? Habs fans have not been as disinterested in this team since the early 2000s. Most people don't care about the habs. RDS ratings for Habs games are in the toilet. To blame any part of this on fans or some douche bag twitter comments is to stick your head in the sand to the bigger issue.

I can't remember the last Wild player I despised as much as I despise Viktor Rask. Truly a terrible player. Yet still gets to play with Zucc and KK and gets PP time because Evason is clueless.

Rask is just a baffling player. Absolutely horrible for long stretches, gets put on a new line and can be sorta effective?

I really just want BG to just buy him out though. Yes they would just have to swallow 1 more year at 4M, but if they buy him out in the offseason the hit is 1.3 for 2 years. They get relief to sign the RFAs, hopefully bring in Boldy and Rossi at ELC's, and won't have to extend anyone super valuable until after Rask goes back to Sweden.

Now Rask sets up Fiala and scores a beauty. What is going on with this guy.

Well another loss to the Blues so go figure. Wild will finish in 3rd and will get eliminated in 4/5 unless they play Vegas who they do ok against for some reason?

I just read this one myself and, holy smokes, who are these people writing novels in the comments section of the Athletic? There are literally 10+ paragraph long responses to that article!!

Look, when you're on a roll, you're on a roll. It's important to show how Not Mad you are to prove that Habs fans are Very Reasonable.

I recently explained to a friend of mine why Jonathan Bernier probably loves being in Detroit (even though they're losing) vs. when he was in Toronto and that article recaps a bunch of my points.
