It was 0-0 at the time! Pinto scored right after it 9 seconds into the second.

SNES went 0-for-3 on the PP in the first but one of them was a 5 min major, maybe 1 shot?

I thought the Devils would be better this year but 1. it seems like their defense is a work in progress 2. Markstrom wasn't working out there but I don't think they upgraded by getting rid of him.

Luke Hughes and Dougie Hamilton played the most tonight, which makes sense, but Luke has never really impressed me in terms of decision-making / risk-management, and I don’t know if the Devils want Dougie to be a top pair guy for them, even if I’d trust him more than Hughes. Pesce and Siegenthaler are both solid second-pair guys if they’re healthy. Dillon and Chisholm are fine, whatever. But they need Hughes to become a legit #1 and I don’t know if that’ll happen.

I wasn’t sure if Silayev made the team this year but he seems like a future 4/5. 63 regular season games in the K last year, 3 points.

Just to be clear, I don't think 5-1 is that good of a start (I mean, it's better than 1-5...)
