The Official 2026-2027 Detroit Red Wings Thread: Everywhere I look it's a darkness

[hotnickelsyo]

Been watching games in person with my dad this weekend. A rare treat.

The two games went exactly the opposite as I had predicted.

HOWEVER the thing that brought me back here was finally getting to MBultman's article today, and reading this line:
"the loss of Patrick Kane looms large on the second line and the power play"

Dude scored 16 goals last year. Two on the power play.
The number of turnovers leading to opposition goals? I don't know how to find that data but it was absolutely more than 2 and could even possibly be 16 or 26 and I would not be surprised. He's already had one blatant example in the second game he played for Chicago this year.

But tell me more about what he achieved in Detroit other than selling some tickets, probably.

End rant. Sorry. I'm so glad he's gone but the fact that people are putting ANY of the current mess to his leaving just really hits me bitterly.
