Here’s one for Cacophony
Re: Terrible HFBoards Trade Proposals Thread
Suzuki is in the NHL young stars commercial, can't say that about any of the wild guys in the trade

LOLHabs would have to give up both Hage and Reinbacher for Bedard, let’s be real here. Hawks want young players if they’re giving Bedard up

Re: Terrible HFBoards Trade Proposals Thread
Love the top ten protection on the 2026 firstI know this is fantasy land in typical Garth Snow fashion when he offered Columbus ALL OF HIS PICKS to move up to the 2nd overall spot and draft Ryan Murray but
Considering the Habs have more than enough middle of the lineup players and are sufficiently advanced in their rebuild, it would be worth moving quantity for quality
And considering the Sharks are probably missing on the guy they want anyway in Matthew Shaefer
Would Mike Grier accept
2025 16th overall (CGY)
2025 17th overall (MTL)
2025 40th overall pick (PIT)
2025 49th overall pick (MTL)
2025 MTL 3rd round pick
2025 VAN 3rd round pick
2025 NJ 3rd round pick
2026 MTL 1st round pick*
2026 MTL 2nd round pick
2026 CBJ 2nd round pick
for
2025 2nd overall (SJ)
I didnt put all those late picks because the Sharks probably have no use for it and there's still a 50 contracts limit. Even though they are rebuilding, they dont have a tons of picks capitals in the next few years : 2x 1st, 2x 2nd, and 5 more picks in 2025, then 2 x 1st, 2 x 2nd and 3 more picks in 2026.
From a Habs POV, I feel like the 2nd overall pick would be the prize for all the assets collected through the rebuild. He is exactly what the Canadiens need, a big responsible centreman. He is also close to be NHL ready to he solve a need short term and long term.
*I'm putting some kind of top 10 protection here. If it's top 10, then Sharks get 2027 1st instead.
I know it's a crazy idea but you have to do crazy to differentiate yourself and win.

Re: Terrible HFBoards Trade Proposals Thread
Granted, they’re not offering a #4 draft pick. They want everyone to take a mid first and mailoux.
Whoa that’s totally different!Nobody offered those 2 pieces alone; stop lying. The offer was more along the lines of:
•16th overall in ‘25
•Beck/Mailloux
•Dobes
•40th overall in ‘25
That’s a competitive package for a youngish 2C.

from HFLeaf thread about Shanahan's worst moves as Leafs prez:
Then not offering JVR or Bozak or even Phil to Avs for Mackinnon and ROR

Re: Terrible HFBoards Trade Proposals Thread
To Montreal- Rossi, Fabian Lysell, Chris Pelosi, 2025 #63OA (Bruins)
To Minnesota - Mittelstadt (15% retention), 2025 #41OA (Montreal), 2025 #79OA (Montreal), Mark Kastelic
To Boston- 2025 #17OA (Montreal), 2025 #49OA (Montreal), Alexander Newhook, Ryan Hartman
Nothing more Habs Fan than complaining about the cost of a completely lopsided trade in your favorI don't know, that's a lot of picks Montreal giving up. We like Rossi, but not that much. Still have to pay him a ton of money.

Re: Terrible HFBoards Trade Proposals Thread
The single most insane post I’ve seen on HF
Eichel-- injured, wanted surgery contract insurance would not cover.
Reinhart--1 yr to UFA. Why didnt priir GM sign him to an 8 yr contract is a mystery
Prior GM didnt want to sign Hagel
Cozens was trsded for a true C in norris
Ullmark-- UFA j-- he was a big injury risk in buffalo constantly missing 3+ months. He showed talent when healthy
Byram acquired for Mitts.
Not even close.
McDavid signed many things are available except for dahlin.
Trochrck is a cso dump
Botgen is an overpaid bottom pair
jones is nothing special
These and 25 1st doesnt get Peterka alone 0
You have to give to get.
Id ask for Wilander, Dakota, and unprotected 26 1st
It wasnt a no defense issue.
Brief history...
22/23-- Buffalo ended just out of the playoffs. They had a top quarter PP.what hurt them was an 0-8-0 run where 5 of their 6 D missed games with 3+ out each game. They go 1-6-1 they make the plao
yoffs.
23/24 granato does focus on D. They improve GA butPP rank tanks to bottom quartile. Also doesn't help when they had a similar 10 game stretch where 4 of their top 6F were out. Offense production across the board drop. In advanced team stats they were equal or better than TB in all except PP and PK. TB was a playoff team.
24/25. Ruff is new coach. They went through a 0-10-4 stretch late nov- dec that killed them. Dahlin was out for galf of the games at least. Later in the season they had another losing skid of around 0-5-1. Outside of these dtresjs they have a solid playoff team record. These are just some data outliers from this season
1. 0-5-3 in games they had 2+ g lead. The 3 OT loses came on last minute pulled goalie goals they thrn lost in OT.
2. About 75% if their loses they led, tied, down 1g in 3rd with many 0'for # on PP.
.they take 10 of these to OT and W 5, that's 15 pts and puts them squarely in WC chase
3. Near top of league in 5v5 and 1st period scoring
4.also near the top in loses in games when they either scored first or had an anytime one goal lead
They maintain the scoring at 5v5, improve PP, improve PK. And improve some on team D and they are a pkayoff team
I don't see them moving peterks unless they get a deal they like or someone signs him to a 1+2+3 OS or more comp. Buffalo can replace peterka with their internal prospects/ players
Their roster st F without Peterka
XXX- NORRIS'THKMPSON
ZUCKER-XXX-QUINN
GREENWAY-MCLEOD-TUCH
MALENSTYN-KOZAK- KREBS
LAFERTY
.they also have Benson and Kulich. Kulich can play C orW, Thompson can play C or W. They could acquire a vet 2 yr short term 2C/W
