Yeah that's my conclusion. You need star talent, star talent almost always out-performs their AAV, and I don't see another star coming to Minnesota, especially if Kaprisov had gone. It's a lot of money and I'm most concerned about whether he stays healthy, but if they're ever going to push above the "Happy to be in the playoff mix" tier, they needed him to stay.

Yeah absolutely. Minny would have been fucked if Kaprisov bailed. And good on him for pushing the limits of star talent AAV.
