Wings are down Larkin for some amount of time so they’re not feeling great about their chances now either
Every fucking Atlantic team won last night, I wish that would stop happening

Can a team just refuse a penalty like in the NFL? Asking for a friend.

Week to week for Sanderson. Hopefully it’s… one week? Not ideal.
I’m in Costa Rica for family vacay and it was already 1 hour behind Eastern but apparently they also haven’t changed for spring forward so I’m taking in this SNES canucks game at a very civilized 7pm start.

I will be spared from having to watch them probably lose to the Habs as well be flying home.

Quillan on the 'kid line' plays 6 mins at 5v5, less than Stevie Lorentz. I never thought I'd watch a worse product than those Randy Carlyle/Dave Nonis Leaf teams. these guys are unequivocally worse.

Nick Schmaltz, who would've been the best free agent on the market this summer, re-ups in Utah at 8x8

Sigh. Glad the game was good but the biggest problem SNES have is lack of game-breaking guys vs the Habs.

so according to my fantrax lil player news note thing Bobby McMann hasn't played yet for Seattle due to visa paperwork shit? they didn't pay nothing for him and it seems like missing 2+ games out of a possible 22 is a lot

So, SNES will get pick 32 this year instead of forfeiting. That feels more justified (to me... I'm just the jerks in Vegas are angry)
Just like the NJD years ago when they took away their 1st for the Kovalchuk contract. But, like, WHY DRAG THIS on? It took you four years to figure this out?
I guess the one "penalty" is they couldn't use the pick in deadline deals. Which, ok, fine, I suppose. Still seems like a dumb thing to drag on and on.

Anyway, looking at the highlights of last nights game it seems Ullmark finished with a + GSAx but two of the goals were... pretty bad. I'm guessing he was otherwise quite good but there wasn't any great saves in the highlights so...shrug.

I assume GSAx is based on shot location on the ice and some other factors? in soccer anyway a goal like the GWG last night is definitely confounding to expected goals models. The initial shot is a save you expect him to make, and not give up a rebound that you lose total sight of as well. he doesn't do the 2nd thing and so it's an easy tap in goal that you wouldn't expect him to make if you're treating it in isolation. I almost wrote 'data points' in composing the above sentences.

I saw this highlight of a Gavin McKenna assist and also in hockey content desperation watched the highlights of Ohio State v Wisconsin on youtube. I guess I haven't been to an OHL game in a long time but this NCAA hockey does not seem as superior to CHL hockey as I feel I have been led to believe.

speaking of all that there's a new team prospect rankings on the website that covers sports, if anyone wants to paste it anywhere for Jay Bouwmeester to read (please)
