It would be funny if zero Brocks or Braydens are traded at the deadline, because it would barely be worth reporting on if Ryan Donato is the big fish

He looked really good last night, for what it's worth. He's still a middle six guy tho, which I guess was your point.

I assume part of him looking good for Chicago is the level of opportunity he’s getting. Not sure of his linemates but he feels like a guy who’ll get traded to a contender and drop down to third-line minutes.
I do have a soft spot for him because FA was doing a concussion study at the prep school where he played in high school (coached by his uncle, I believe).

Donato was much more noticeable than Bedard last night. What a terrible team.

I'm hoping that Reilly Smith is as "big" as Vegas goes this deadline, but watch them land Rantanen for shits and giggles

The New York Rangers traded Reilly Smith to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday in exchange for former first-rounder Brendan Brisson and a 2025 third-round pick that originally belonged to the San Jose Sharks, according to a league source. The Rangers are retaining 50 percent of Smith’s $3.75 million cap hit.
A better return than I expected, although Brisson hasn’t been great in the AHL this year

it feels possible to get a pick back for Domi in this market. I would be happier with that move than I would be getting Rantanan or someone else really good

Excellent skater, will exit trouble in the zone with the puck. Good shot and knows how to step up and make space for it. Has in-zone coverage issues from time to time. He won’t score as many points without PP deployment, which is hard to see him getting in Edmo, but he’ll be a big upgrade on Klingberg.
I really liked him on the Wings and have still not gotten a clear sense of why they paid the Sharks a 2nd rounder to take him. Supposedly issues in the room? He was great with the community in Detroit and genuinely emotional about getting traded.
