Yeah this was the point where I was thinking someone's season and or career is going to end before the end of the game

Harley was a total beast, what a player. Tough game for Marner, Reinhardt, Mack and even Sid. Point might have been the best non McDavid forward?

Also thought Matthews was low key great. Not a lot going offensively but killed everything going the other way

US is so stacked it's incredible. The thought of watching that team and thinking, Cole Caufield deserves to be there.

Can't believe McD didn't just rip it on that chance off the Marner sauce, Reinhart wasn't even on his off wing to onetime it

I saw a few comments on the Athletic of “Hellebuyck only stopped one more goal than Binnington, he’s not that much better” but uh that’s pretty important!

Binnington ended up making some good saves but that first goal was very stoppable

Larkin moved up to 3C from fourth-line winger, was one of the most dangerous guys on the ice last night

What are the chances, but when Larkin celebrated, he looked up into the corner of the lower bowl and spotted his entire family, especially his father, Kevin.

“I got to see my dad jump up. Honestly. Just probably one of the more special goals of my career,” Larkin said.

How’d he see him?

“Well, he’s got the whitest hair, so it was a pretty special moment,” Larkin said.

I thought Sid and McKinnon looked a bit off last night. Probably what led to mixing up the lines, looking for any sort of chemistry.

It was almost impossible to get through the neutral zone for either team. Guenzel's clean entry was because of a bad change. And I'd say Finland-Sweden was the same way. But the US did an amazing job of taking away the middle of the ice and shooting lanes in their D zone. There was nothing there.

And oh yeah, to echo practice, Matthews and Eichel were both so good defensively

I think it’s easier for teams to fall into a defensive system with little practice time together than to have offensive chemistry and timing.

J’accuse and Marner are guys who really need to work with their teammates.

I didn't realize how close Brady got to the Hagel-M. tkachuk fight. He was chasing them around for a bit
