I'm MAYBE not objective here and I do hate MacAvoy but I felt like that Matthews play was:

1. A legit holding penalty on MacAvoy which was then negated by:
2. A massive dive by Matthews to try to get a call on the holding

So, it's more like two missed penalties than one?

Kucherov kind of gave up on the period after the save on stamkos, he could have gotten himself open to score there

I've been thinking about this goal basically nonstop and I have decided it's as bad as the Niewendyk goal on Lalime from this same spot which was also short side iirc and Lalime reached across his body with his glove to try to catch it, and I can't decide if that was worse than what Samsonov tries here with his blocker. one of the worst goals I have ever seen.
