Gostisbeer is sick, imagine giving up this player for nothing. crazy that he's been available multiple times and the Leafs never stepped up, whose PP dried up every spring.

I'll be honest, I was fine with Gostisbehere going at the end of his year with the Wings. He was often great offensively but lackadaisical on defensive coverage, and the points didn't seem worth it. He didn't take all that much money with Carolina, which suggests he likes being there (and/or winning).
In hindsight, I've realized that
1. His defensive issues were as much (if not more) due to the Wings' team defensive issues not covering for him as Gostisbehere's own deficiencies.
2. It's not that easy to get 56 points on the Wings' blueline! Erik Gustafsson couldn't do anything, ASP was a rookie but also struggled, and the jury's out on Faulk.
I am surprised that their PP% went up after he left.

When they mentioned that Taylor Hall had played for seven teams, I remembered his half-season stint for Buffalo (two goals in 37 games) where both sides seemed to be betting on themselves and both sides lost

for me these playoffs started with a Carolina goalie sat on his but making a 'save' vs Ottawa and ended with a different Carolina goalie sat on his but making a 'save' vs VGK

One of the least (but not wholly in-)offensive outcomes to this season, I guess I'll take it.
