Copp! I think Ras gets an assist there too

It actually looked like Copp was shooting it back into Woll's equipment but biffed it

In this economy!

The rest of the game should be easy now right

Danielson also gets an assist

I like him more on that line than Kolesar

When have the Red Wings squandered a lead in the last minutes of a game

Danielson with Yurov and Lorenz would be a fun line. Ahem

Just give Raymond a free goal instead of the Flyers a penalty

Ferraro: “The Wings should never turn this puck over”
Dylan Larkin: “Don’t tell me what I can’t do”

I was thinking that Copp with Kasper and Danielson might be fun. As fun as a line with Copp (and no DeBrincat / Kane) could be this year, at least.

I laughed at that, while being mad.

Now they announce the Ed contract after the postgame right

This would be interesting

The thing I hate most about a potential Wild trade for Larkin is that they’d 100% have to include guys like Hartman and Trenin for cap purposes. We have those guys already!

For real, the timing and money couldn't be worse for those two teams to make the deal.

I have scoffed at every single "Boldy for Larkin" take I've seen, but that's honestly probably the only way it happens? BG isn't gonna do it.

Boldy has never seemed like a realistic possibility, I don't even entertain that one. I'd do it, of course, but like you said, Guerin wouldn't.

The cap problem is considerable. Let's say Yurov is the centerpiece, no pun intended. He makes less than a mill. You'd have to include both Hartman (who has a modified NTC) and Trenin (who has a modified NTC) to get close to the figure, then Minnesota's down three forwards. Does Detroit have to include someone like Mazur? Minnesota would need to keep other cheap contracts like Lorenz to fill out their roster. Meanwhile it's not like Detroit needs Hartman or Trenin. Trenin has 13 goals over the last two seasons, has a 4 mil cap hit, and has another year left. The Wings just got Kolesar, who is the same profile (hits a lot, no offensive ability). Is some other team going to take those guys?

Stramel has one point in four AHL games so far, so it's not like he's lighting it up and is good enough to replace Yurov as the main piece.

The package would be something like

Yurov
Stramel or Heidt
Hartman
Trenin
One or two 1sts

Larkin Mazur

which seems ridiculous typed out.

It's ripe for one of those Vegas/Tampa specials, where say Spurgeon goes on LTIR and they can suddenly make it work, while also getting Spurgeon back for the playoffs somehow.

Supposedly the NHL closed that particular loophole

In theory they could put Faber on LTIR with his broken skull and either move guys like Hartman and Trenin later or hope (?) some other dude gets hurt in the meantime

JBD on waivers. A little curious.

At this point I'll assume it's that they prefer Wallinder, Anton Johansson, and Andreas Englund being in the mix. JBD had been on IR so he didn't count towards the eight-man blueline.

If Englund gets waived I'll get more optimistic about an Edvinsson signing being imminent.

I will say that in addition to Anton Johansson deserving his spot on the team (he's a bit up/down, as evidenced by a dumb penalty and then his first goal), Wallinder has looked better than I expected. Unlike AnJo, he's not showing flashes of being a second-pair guy, but as low-risk third-pair guys go, he's fine!

Agreed on the kids! It's been pleasant and a welcome issue should Ed finally sign. Hopefully it helps move Faulk sooner.

I had totally forgot that JBD was on IR, that makes sense.
