Detroit does NOT look engaged in this game early. So loose in both ends.
That looks like it might come out of the zone but it'll be in the air and hard to guage? Need a better angle

Detroit is terrible in the first period but this is a total no show

Ok, I have no idea how they were able to say that was conclusive but fine. *probably* correct?

Holy christ. Well, the silver lining here is that I'm too sick to watch the whole game?

I defy you to find a team perhaps in history that has played that well (vs the other team not really doing so) and ended up down 3-0 after 1.

I could easily see Ottawa coming back to win this one if the teams keep playing like they’re playing

I know, but given the way this season has been going they'll just come back and lose 3-2 or 4-3 or something.

I can live with that!
The Wings have been significantly better in the second period than the first but they’ve also looked terrible in this game, aside from the puck ending up in the net

Czechia scored two goals with the goalie pulled to get it to 3-2, but Sweden got the EN goal after that and won gold

Do I know SNES hockey or do I know SNES hockey? The DET shorthanded 5-3 goal ruined the perfection of it but, like, even if my head above with the 4-3 score I was expecting 3-2, then 4-2, then 4-3 all of which occured.
I gotta be honest here, tho, with even average goaltending Ottawa probably wins that game fairly handily. Goals 1, 3, 4, and 5 were all stoppable. Eye test matches the stats, too, SNES goalies a combined -3 GSAx. Gibson +0.93, he was solid.
Detroit seems... ok? Were not impressive last night, anyway. Good for them, you need some luck with so much parity and they seem to be getting it this year.

They’ve definitely looked a lot better than they did last night. Gibson was excellent, though, and defensive coverage was to blame on the goals.
The Wings could really use an upgrade on D, they have three guys they can really trust (including Chiarot) and teams are keying on ASP / AlJo / JBD.

SNES need to make a move for a goalie, any goalie (James Reimer? lol) ASAP.
What's going on with the JERTS?

Is there any word on how long Ullmark will be away from the team or what the reason is? Pure speculation I assume.
My gut is that the best goalie realistically available would be one of the Sabres’ trio (Lyon, UPL, Ellis), but 1. They’re in the mix 2. I can’t see them trading a goalie to a division competitor.

What I could tell about the JERTS from watching them a week ago:
1. Hellebuyck isn’t the problem
2. Aside from Scheifele / Connor / Vilardi, no one’s really scoring. Toews has 3 goals / 9 assists and clearly isn’t up to being a 2C. Namestikov has eight points. Perfetti has eight points. Nyquist has eight points (all assists). Lowry has eight points. Iafallo and Nino have 14/15, but there’s basically no second-line production. Losing Ehlers collapsed a house of cards.
3. Pionk didn’t look good and that extension is concerning. Logan Stanley is having a surprisingly good season production-wise, and Morrissey/DeMelo are doing well, but Schenn gets caved in.
4. It would’ve really helped if a rookie could’ve stepped up and produced (Lambert especially) but it’s just journeymen vets on the decline, as previously mentioned.
Hellebuyck will win them games (eventually) so I don’t think they’ll end up as the worst team, but it really feels like an indictment of their last few years as paper tigers.
