NOW it’s 8-1
Although sometimes Yahoo fucks up on scores and they list it as 8-0.

This is a great stat line from that season from Daniel Berthiaume:

I think a Tigers pitcher had a comparable ERA after his first appearance in the playoffs

What I could tell about the JERTS from watching them a week ago:
1. Hellebuyck isn’t the problem
2. Aside from Scheifele / Connor / Vilardi, no one’s really scoring. Toews has 3 goals / 9 assists and clearly isn’t up to being a 2C. Namestikov has eight points. Perfetti has eight points. Nyquist has eight points (all assists). Lowry has eight points. Iafallo and Nino have 14/15, but there’s basically no second-line production. Losing Ehlers collapsed a house of cards.
3. Pionk didn’t look good and that extension is concerning. Logan Stanley is having a surprisingly good season production-wise, and Morrissey/DeMelo are doing well, but Schenn gets caved in.
4. It would’ve really helped if a rookie could’ve stepped up and produced (Lambert especially) but it’s just journeymen vets on the decline, as previously mentioned.
Hellebuyck will win them games (eventually) so I don’t think they’ll end up as the worst team, but it really feels like an indictment of their last few years as paper tigers.
I mean, pretty much all this. The offense is a black hole outside of the top line and Morrissey -- the only "bright" spot scoring-wise is indeed Logan Stanley (who is a VERY flawed bottom pair Dman) who had 1 single goal in each of his first five seasons and already has 7 now, which puts him tied for fourth in goals on the team

Ehlers was definitely a straw that stirred drinks...
Per the point on youth -- for an organization that NEEDS to draft and develop to acquire talent, they've been bad at that for going on years now. Perfetti is the youngest regular on the team, and he's already 24. The young guys (Lambert, Chibrikov, Barlow, etc) are definitely having bad offensive seasons in the AHL. That said, I'd definitely like to see them up with the big team in the latter half of this lost season and to actually put them in positions to succeed -- which would mean playing them more than ~7 minutes a night on a 4th line with offensive black hole guys. Doing so would take Arniel away from his well-worn comfort blanket of the first line being able to outscore many problems, but at this point, what's the point? Trotting out this lineup for the next 40 games isn't magically going to turn them into a playoff team (unless Helle goes apeshit, which is possible, but that gets the Jets to, at best, a date with Colorado in the first round?) Hopefully the season moving forward is treated as an opportunity to try some new things out, give some young guys better opportunities to play and succeed, and get a top-3, 5 pick who can actually step in quickly and inject some life into this moribund team.

Kinda sinking in how fucked the SNES were yesterday.
"Oh, hey the season is slipping away and the most insane/gross fabricated rumours just came out that affect most of you and your families and ronight you get to play the most lethal team in the NHL on the road, second night of a back to back."

Hadn't seen how bad Colby Barlow was doing in the AHL. That's a whiff for both Winnipeg and Whale Emoji Fart Emoji.
It would be great if Winnipeg won the lottery, a guy like McKenna or Stenberg would help them a lot, although I'm getting a little worried about McKenna being a Laf-level first overall.
