Goil gets Connor Ingram from the Mammoth, I don’t think he’s any better than their existing tandem but hey he’s another live body

Yeah he deserves to get paid but I worry about his health at times. Not the biggest fan of BG but I don’t think he had a choice. At least he got good value on Faber, Rossi, and Boldy recently.

edmonton is hockey's perpetual rehab centre so why not I guess

Yeah that's my conclusion. You need star talent, star talent almost always out-performs their AAV, and I don't see another star coming to Minnesota, especially if Kaprisov had gone. It's a lot of money and I'm most concerned about whether he stays healthy, but if they're ever going to push above the "Happy to be in the playoff mix" tier, they needed him to stay.
It also feels like this off-season was a preview of a period where many teams have more cap space than there are worthwhile players to spend it on.
