On the plus side we get a US Canada rematch

On the downside the game tonight is meaningless

Yeah. Nice that Boston and Mtl both get to host Canada-USA games.

thinking back to the uncalled hook on Nylander in the FIN-SWE game, I'm convinced the fix was in

It will be a miracle if Brady doesn't injure himself

Some takeaways from watching Sweden:

Hedman might be underrated. He doesn’t put up the total numbers of Makar / Hughes / Fox but man he’s so reliable. Hard not to think that Yzerman is aiming for his blueprint in Seider / Edvinsson.

Dahlin is kind of a dick! I’ve noticed it when the Wings play Buffalo, but he’s feistier than the usual offensive defenseman.

Nice to see old friend Gustav Nyquist pot one. Still my favorite active ex-Wing.

Arvidsson is a total pill. I don’t know if he’s especially effective at it, but man he’s trying to be irritating.

Another injury is required for Hughes to be eligible to play

Watching them live... Hedman is so good. And he looks huge, even compared to other "big" NHLers. I also thought Jesper Bratt (tiny) was noticeable every shift. Probably Sweden's best puck rusher.

There were writeups of the Canada US game in the guardian and the telegraph here and when I shared them with my cross border ball hockey group chat our former goalie who lives in Montreal again now was like we should be booing our anthem because Trudeau is a traitor who attacks peaceful protestors while letting terrorists protest "but yes orange man bad"

Bratt and Raymond worked well together. Raymond did a lot of the retrieval work on the Swedish PP.

Pettersson is frustrating to watch.
