Suzuki is in the NHL young stars commercial, can't say that about any of the wild guys in the trade

Habs would have to give up both Hage and Reinbacher for Bedard, let’s be real here. Hawks want young players if they’re giving Bedard up

I know this is fantasy land in typical Garth Snow fashion when he offered Columbus ALL OF HIS PICKS to move up to the 2nd overall spot and draft Ryan Murray but

Considering the Habs have more than enough middle of the lineup players and are sufficiently advanced in their rebuild, it would be worth moving quantity for quality

And considering the Sharks are probably missing on the guy they want anyway in Matthew Shaefer

Would Mike Grier accept

2025 16th overall (CGY)
2025 17th overall (MTL)
2025 40th overall pick (PIT)
2025 49th overall pick (MTL)
2025 MTL 3rd round pick
2025 VAN 3rd round pick
2025 NJ 3rd round pick
2026 MTL 1st round pick*
2026 MTL 2nd round pick
2026 CBJ 2nd round pick

for

2025 2nd overall (SJ)

I didnt put all those late picks because the Sharks probably have no use for it and there's still a 50 contracts limit. Even though they are rebuilding, they dont have a tons of picks capitals in the next few years : 2x 1st, 2x 2nd, and 5 more picks in 2025, then 2 x 1st, 2 x 2nd and 3 more picks in 2026.

From a Habs POV, I feel like the 2nd overall pick would be the prize for all the assets collected through the rebuild. He is exactly what the Canadiens need, a big responsible centreman. He is also close to be NHL ready to he solve a need short term and long term.

*I'm putting some kind of top 10 protection here. If it's top 10, then Sharks get 2027 1st instead.

I know it's a crazy idea but you have to do crazy to differentiate yourself and win.
Love the top ten protection on the 2026 first
